Open Mic Guidelines
Welcome to the Speakeasy Open Mic! This is a space for writers and performers to share their voices and connect with a supportive community. To ensure everyone has a chance to shine and that the evening reflects our shared values, please review the following guidelines:
1. Time Limit
- Each performer is allotted 5 minutes to share their work.
- We ask that you respect this limit to allow time for all participants. A gentle reminder will be given if your time is nearing the end.
2. Content Guidelines
- All genres and forms are welcome—poetry, prose, song lyrics, stand-up, and more!
- We celebrate creativity and encourage experimentation, but please avoid content that is discriminatory, hateful, or violates our commitment to inclusivity and respect.
3. Respectful Listening
- Being part of the audience is just as important as performing. Please give your full attention to others as they share their work.
- Applause and encouragement are always appreciated!
