With Lara Ehrlich, professional editor, founder and director of Thought Fox, and author of the novel Bind Me Tighter, Still (2025) and Animal Wife (2020), both from Red Hen Press.
Short can be deep. Quick can cut to the quick. Short stories can shatter your heart. In this workshop, we’ll break down examples of short stories that pack a punch, investigate what makes them powerful, and apply those elements to our own craft.
Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to read your short piece at Thought Fox’s first open mic event at the Velvet Mill’s Beer’d Brewing on June 5.
Led by Thought Fox director Lara Ehrlich, an editor with 20+ years of experience guiding writers at all levels and author of the award-winning story collection Animal Wife (Red Hen Press, 2020) and the novel Bind Me Tighter Still (Red Hen Press, 2025).
