Fall means cozy evenings, warm beverages, and, for many of us, the exhilarating challenge of NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month).
Embarking on a journey to write 50,000 words in a single month might seem like a daunting task—but at Thought Fox, we believe in the power of community and mutual support to make this endeavor not only manageable but inspiring. With workshops, write-ins, and the camaraderie of fellow writers, we’ll tackle this ambitious goal together.
On November 1, kick off the challenge on the top floor of the historic Velvet Mill in the beautifully transformed former president’s office. In this unique space, now a hub for creativity and community, interdisciplinary artist Jessica Cerullo will guide us through grounding and contemplative practices that will prepare us for the voyage ahead.
Then, we’ll move down to Thought Fox Writers Den to write the first words of your novel. With the support of Thought Fox director Lara Ehrlich and fellow writers, and the energy from our meditation, you’ll be ready to tackle this creative challenge.
Grab your favorite mug, a cozy blanket, and your creative spirit. Let’s journey into the fall season with pens poised, laptops charged, and the unwavering support of our Thought Fox community.
Our classes are LGTBQIA+-friendly, anti-racist, and anchored in a disability justice framework; they are open to writers at any stage in their careers, from beginner to established. No one will be turned away for financial reasons. If a course fee is a hardship, please email ThoughtFoxWritersDen@gmail.com
